I absolutely love the pizza here!! The salad's are very good. I go in about once a week for a lunch special; which includes a mini pizza, side salad & a drink for right around $8.00! If you like spicy food definitely try the buffalo chicken pizza. It is awesome dipped in their ranch dressing; I like it on their gluten free crust which makes it crispy almost like a cracker.

Guido's has great pizza and salad, but we really appreciate the personal, small-town atmosphere the most. Ryan knows us by name and will come out to the table to make sure we are enjoying our meal and just to visit! If you want a special combination or a topping that he doesn't normally carry (ie green olives) he'll accommodate your request and will do so without charging you an arm and a leg. They also have great pasta and sandwiches. We drive past two other pizza places to go to Guido's!

Sorry to hear Rich had a bad experience at Guido's because it really is a decent pizza place. The pizza reminds me of New York style with thin, doughy crust and big slices that lend themselves to folding. The pizzas we had there tonight were cooked correctly with the right amount of toppings. I will say that it seems the sauce may have changed. It was different than the last time I was there. Not bad, just different. If you aren't in the mood for pizza, they also have subs, but it's not Subway so don't expect them to make it front of you on honey oat flat bread. Again, it's Midwest twist on New York food. From the outside Guido's doesn't look that big and it's even smaller on the inside. It doesn't take too many cars to fill the parking lot and getting in and out can be frustrating. Keep in mind this is a local eatery and when your pizza choices are Pizza Hut, Casey's and Guido's, Guido's wins hands down. Don't let the first review scare you off. It's a decent place for pizza and subs but it is small and that can be frustrating for some.

I'm not sure what makes the pizza taste unique vs typical American pizzas but most people like it. Count me among them. It's a little pricey but they give a teacher discount which is always appreciated. My wife loves their simple salads and their subs are pretty good also. They offer smaller pizzas so you can go in a group and everybody can get exactly what they want. The cook the food after you order it so you have a little time to sit and be social (bad if you're in a rush but we're all too rushed these days anyway). It is a small place but it's in a small town and most people probably order carry-out or delivery. My wife and I don't live in town so we eat in and go there when we won't mind the wait. You're rewarded with food that isn't the same thing you get everyplace else that tastes good and adds to a pleasant evening. They also take most Pizza Hut coupons.

Some folks in Pleasant Hill claim this is one of the better pizza places in town, which is like saying throat cancer is much better than testicular cancer. Service is slow and surly, the pizzas come loaded with pounds of cheap cheese cooked for less than 30 seconds, and the interior atmosphere resembles a pool hall, only without the class. Additionally, the place recently burned down, which makes no sense considering their ovens seem incapable of reaching even 200 degrees. If you're trapped in Pleasant Hill and desperately need to eat pizza for some unknown reason, you'd be better off walking south a block and going to Casey's. Yes, you can seriously find better pizza at a gas station, one whose kitchen was recently shut down by the health inspectors after they found dead roaches in their freezer.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
